Trainers and Assessors

Staff who are chosen for our Training Team are hand-picked from our clinical staff. We feel it is important that trainers have direct experience in the subject that they are teaching. There are many training Companies who have trainers who have simply ‘read it in a book’, we guarantee that our trainers have had recent, relevant hands-on experience and they bring this experience to their training sessions.

All trainers and assessors have qualifications in training and / or assessing that are acceptable to HSE standards.

Paramedics

All Paramedics we use are currently on the Health Professions Council Register (HPC). Paramedics have their own governing body and the name ‘Paramedic’ is a protected name.

We draw on Paramedics who are trained and work in the NHS and those who have a background in the Armed Services. We recognise the excellent additional skills the Military paramedics bring to our team, in respect or their broad additional knowledge and skills.

Our minimum standard of ambulance crew is the same as current standards for the NHS, namely 1 Paramedic and 1 Technician on an ambulance.

Many staff hold further qualifications in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Major Incident Medical Management (MIMMS) courses.

We have some Paramedics on our Team whose regular jobs include Emergency Planning Officers for local Primary Care Trusts, Resuscitation Training Officers and Emergency Care Practitioners.

Our Lead Paramedic is employed as an Ambulance Officer for a local NHS Ambulance Service Trust.

Ambulance Care Assistant

Our Ambulance Care Assistants have special skills in the transfer of patients. They are experts at creating a relaxed, professional and comfortable environment in which the patients are transferred.
Minimum training standards include First Aid at Work, Moving and Handling, Handling of Patients, Use of Ambulance Equipment, Automated Advisory Defibrillator and Customer Services.

Emergency Medical Technicians

Qualified staff trained in ambulance aid skills and familiar with paramedic skills and equipment, also trained in cardiac care and automated external defibrillation. EMTs are also well trained in aspects of trauma and those trained in this field are hand-picked to attend out motor sport events.

Staff are often drawn from both the NHS and Military environments, but some have other backgrounds which lend themselves towards this caring role.

Many staff hold further qualifications in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Major Incident Medical Management (MIMMS) courses.

Clinical Governance

All staff grades are re-examined on a yearly basis to ensure skill levels are maintained to a high standard and to ensure that we are taking sophisticated pre-hospital care directly to our patients.
Our Clinical Director is a Registered Nurse and liaises with the Senior Members of the Team on a regular basis to update staff in current practice.
Our Operations Director has many years experience in the Pre-hospital field and regularly runs the medical side of large events. He has a Military background.

Event Duty Manager

Staff who have successfully undergone Medical Management courses and gained experience in running large events are accepted into this role. As a Company, we regularly run major events from 1,000 people to 60,000. A large degree of management is required to run a large event in aspects such as staffing, medical management and the potential for Major Incident work. This member of staff will be involved throughout the planning stages of a major event and will meet with the organisers prior to the event if required.

Doctors

Doctors are all registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and are chosen for their particular area of specialism. Staff include GPs, those with special interest in Aeromedical and Repatriation work, those with specialist Pre-Hospital Care and Accident and Emergency qualifications and those with special interest in Motor Sport and Equestrian Medicine.

We have 2 Medical Directors, both are practising GPs and have a wealth of experience in medical management of major events, motor sport and drag racing.

Nurses

All Nurses employed are Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Chosen for their specialist experience and maturity, they hold a unique position on our Team. Nurses are recruited who have direct recent experience on Primary Care (Practice Nurses), Pre-Hospital Care (Accident and Emergency Nurses), and Aeromedical Work. We have some Midwives on our team.

Many staff hold further qualifications in Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Major Incident Medical Management (MIMMS) courses.

We have a Clinical Director who is a Registered Nurse and has worked in this field for 20 years.

Driver Training

Staff undergo regular driver training and those who are required to drive on emergency work are trained by an outside agency to this standard. Emergency Service Driver Training forms a very important aspect of the work undertaken us. We ensure that all of our driving personnel are adequately trained to perform their driving duties safely with the minimum risk.

Criminal Record (CRB) Checks

Staff undergo enhanced CRB checks through NAPAS.
